The Forgotten Millions
History of the play
"Send to death mercilessly and without compassion, men, women and children of Polish derivation and language. Only then will we gain the living space we need." (Hitler, 1939)
The above Hitler quotation inspired Kimberley Godsall and four of her school friends to write thier A Level drama exam about the Holocaust; six years on the new version of 'The Forgotten Millions'; which has been co-written by Sarah Love is made it's debut at the Barons Court Theatre. It ran from 13th to 18th November 2007.
Five million non Jewish people died during the Holocaust; that is nearly half of the eleven million people brutally murdered during the reign of the Third Reich. dozy dollop productions would like to make it clear that they are not taking away anything that happened to the Jews during the horrific years of the Holocaust. Nobody can ever forget what happened to six million innocent people. We are simply telling the story from a different point of view. We are not ignoring the Jewish victims, but highlighting and remembering the others.
The interest in this production was amazing, over 350 people applied to audition; after many gruesome rehearsals we were very pleased with the result and hope that 'The Forgotten Millions' can help us to remember. To forget just one of these people would be a tragedy, to forget them all, unforgivable.
We collabortated with Theze Guyz Kidz to work with five budding young actresses. For more information about the Northampton based youth theatre group please click here www.freewebs.com/thezeguyztheatreco/
